F. H. Fred Pritchett trained as a navigator and spent most of the war in action over North Africa and the Mediterranean, notably in the Beaufighters of 252 Squadron. His accounts of service life and air operations are a valuable record for historians as well as being immensely readable, with evidence of Fred’s intelligent eye and dry humour throughout.
